What are your rates?
I offer two fee structures.
For book development, I have a reasonable hourly fee.
For manuscript evaluation/developmental editing, I offer a fixed fee based on the level of work and word count. You can expect to pay between $2300- $3500 for manuscripts between 60,000 and 100,000 words.
My book proposal development work ranges from a thorough editorial review of a complete proposal you have already written, to a collaboration with me and my team on every aspect of your proposal from advising on content and core messages through editorial guidance and coaching to completion of a polished, submission-ready document. Fees vary accordingly.
For book contract review, my fee ranges from $350- $500 depending on the contract’s length and complexity.
A percentage of my fee is due up front with the remainder due upon completion of work. I accept checks and payments via PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle.
How long will it take for you to get back to me after I send you my manuscript?
We will schedule a mutually convenient time for me to begin work on your manuscript and I will finish work and respond to you within three weeks of that date.
What kinds of writers/writing do you work with?
I work with serious, committed writers who are willing to work hard to make their work the best that it can be.
I will read and evaluate manuscripts and work on proposals covering most nonfiction topics.
I will also work with most fiction excluding books in the straight science fiction, fantasy or romance genres.
I may ask you to send me sample pages of your completed novel or nonfiction project so that I can determine if I am the right editor for you.
